Graduate Water Quality Technician (Industrial)

Are you a recent science or environmental science graduate who wants to begin a career within the water treatment industry? If you are interested in working for an innovative Company and are looking for excellent career progression then SUEZ Advanced Solutions UK may have the opportunity you have been looking for.

You will begin a training program which will provide you with significant on-site experience and give you the opportunity to be involved with exciting projects. The role will involve travelling to, and working on, client sites within the region and you will work closely with our Account Managers in order to complete testing and analysis of cooling towers, steam boilers and process water systems, as well as completing risk assessments of water systems to comply with the Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) for the control of Legionella bacteria in water systems.

The ideal candidate will have a science/environmental sciences based degree (or equivalent) and will have excellent communication and team working skills. They must also have the ability to provide excellent customer service and be able to represent the Company in a confident and professional manner. A full UK driving licence is also essential as is the ability to travel and stay away as required.

Water Services Technician

We are looking to recruit a Water Services Technician within our Water Hygiene & Environmental Services division in order to carry out pre-planned water management tasks such as temperature monitoring, water tank cleaning and chlorinations, TMV servicing and other water management related tasks and remedial works.

Duties of the role will include:

  • To attend client sites and conduct monthly water management tasks such monthly monitoring, TMV servicing, shower descales.
  • Complete on-site records and update online records accordingly.
  • Ensure contractual obligations are met on site.
  • Actively feedback any new sales opportunities that may arise.
  • To undertake other tasks, as required, to assist the team to deliver a high level of service to clients.

Previous experience as a water engineer would be ideal and basic plumbing knowledge and confidence in carrying out remedial works is required. Knowledge of operational water systems and how they work would also be advantageous with a valid driving licence essential for this role.

The ideal candidate will have 5 GCSEs or equivalent (with English and Maths at C grade or above) and any other legionella-related exams or course attendances would of benefit. Organisation skills, a willingness to learn new technologies and the ability to work well alone and as part of a team are also essential. Likewise, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also required as is a strong customer service focus, a confident and professional manner and IT competency. Self-motivation, flexibility and reliability are also essential attributes for the successful candidate. Please note that candidates must be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces as this is required for the role.

QHSE Coordinator

We are looking to recruit a Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Coordinator to assist in the provision of a high quality and professional HSEQ services across all of our Group companies.
As QHSE Coordinator you will support the Technical Director and QHSE Advisor to develop health, safety, quality and environmental management systems across all of SUEZ Advanced Solutions' Group Companies within the framework of ISO 9001/14001/ OHSAS 18001. You will also provide advice and guidance to the Company and its managers on quality, health, safety and environmental matters.

Duties of the role will also include:

  • Assist in the development of any necessary policies to ensure the health and safety of all employees, contractors and visitors to our sites;
  • Supporting the operations team with risk assessments on existing and new sites and designing risk mitigation measures;
  • Carrying out and supervise operational checks, audits and reports for the QHSE Management System to be compliant with ISO9001/14001, OHSAS 18001 and Legionella Control Association standards, including corrective and preventive measures;
  • Ensure there is continuous improvement of products, processes and services;
  • Providing QHSE improvement proposals stating: the non-conformance, proposed corrective action, required resources for corrective action and plan of implementation;
  • Investigating the root cause of QHSE complaints put forward by staff members, customers, clients and contractors and reporting the result to the QHSE Advisor;
  • Following up to ensure that corrective actions are implemented where necessary and ensuring that any certification requirements are complied with;
  • Assisting with and inspecting job site activities during particularly difficult or hazardous work situations;
  • Assisting local management in the preparation and presentation of field QHSE meetings;
  • Coordinating and participating in the investigation of accidents and near misses;
  • Reviewing and analysing accidents and near miss incidents and making corrective action recommendations;
  • Ensure continued compliance with national and international standards, as well as relevant statutory legislation and organisational requirements;
  • Carrying out QHSE training;
  • Ensuring regular emergency response exercises and drills are conducted to ensure the highest level of preparedness in any emergency, maintaining records of such drills and providing recommendations for emergency response improvements;
  • Ensuring that operations employees, contractors and site visitors receive HSE inductions and permit to work systems are followed;
  • Writing QHSE reports, technical and management system reports, producing statistics and presentations related to QHSE performance;
  • Reporting to the QHSE Advisor and Technical Director as required.

Previous experience within a similar role is essential, as is a degree or relevant professional qualification. A NEBOSH certificate or equivalent is required as a minimum. The ideal candidate will also have experience of QHSE systems within a similar environment and will have strong experience of ISO9001 and 14001. Experience of OHSA18001 would be desirable.

Previous experience in a similar industry and an understanding of water and water hygiene would be desirable. Excellent organisation, problem solving and interpersonal skills are also key requirements, as is good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
A proactive nature and the ability to prioritise and plan effectively in order to meet specific deadlines, along with a confident and professional manner, is also essential for the role. Furthermore as we have several group and client sites nationally, the availability to travel is also a core requirement, as is holding a valid UK driving licence.

Operations Support Administrator

We are looking to recruit an Operations Support Administrator. The role will support the Water Hygiene Business unit by liaising with clients in order to schedule site visits by SUEZ engineers and providing back office support to operations field staff. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with good organisation and administrative skills to develop in a busy, professional environment.

Duties of the role will include:

  • Booking the engineers on client sites by ringing the tenants or duty holders of the premises to be surveyed.
  • Updating the site appointment dates in the monthly planner in ManageMyWater.
  • Liaising with clients regarding access or other issues.
  • Using a bespoke database and CRM system to input, collate and manage data.
  • Providing back office support for the operations field staff.
  • Creating spreadsheets, composing correspondence and managing databases.
  • Dealing with any emails, communicating professionally and with attention to detail.
  • Undertaking other tasks, as required, to assist the team to deliver a high level of service to clients.

Excellent organisation skills are essential, as is a good level of computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Office packages. The ideal candidate will have experience of working within an office administration role, good attention to detail and the ability to work well in a team, as well as good customer service skills and professional telephone manner. A self-motivated and resourceful approach is also required.
